Call for Nominations for our Volunteer Board of Directors

Sunrise at Campfire Rock, photo by Crystal Adams Consider joining a Board of Directors that is committed to seeing Camp Fircom renewed as a regional camp. This fun, young and dynamic team meets on the first and third Thursday of every month. We deal with visioning our way forward, developing new ideas, fundraising, taking care of the property, and various other arising issues. Please consider the following to evaluate whether a Board position might be right for you.

Qualifications Required:
  • A strong commitment to Camp Fircom.
  • Time and Energy to commit to attending most Board meetings, a few hours of other work per week, and occasional visits to the site.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to work effectively towards common goals.
  • Ability to commit to a year of service on the Board.
      Personal Characteristics:
    • Enthusiasm
    • Integrity
    • Flexibility
    • Strong Leadership abilities
      In addition, we are seeking people who are:
    • Professionals in a field. (ie: lawyer, accountant, fundraiser, carpenter, etc.)
    • Connected to the United Church. (Camp Fircom counts)
    • Parents of Campers.
    • Alumni Leaders and Staff.

    After careful consideration of the criteria, please let us know of your intention!
    Please e-mail your name and a brief note stating what interests you about being on our board, and what makes you a great candidate.

    Interested, but not quite ready for the commitment?

    There are plenty of things you can do to help the Board! One of the easiest ways is to be an advisor to our Board. We are looking for professionals and self proclaimed experts in any and every field! Time commitment is minimal, on a call by call basis. If you have a skill, we would love to have you within a phone calls reach. Please consider dropping us an email and letting us know that you are there if we need you!
